Turn AI generated HTML into a link you can share

Chatbots are great at writing small web pages: invitations, quizzes, calculators, games. The code is ready, but it only lives in the chat. This guide shows how to get a clean result from the AI and turn it into a real link that works on every phone.

Step by step

  1. Ask for one self-contained file

Ask the AI for a single index.html file with all CSS and JavaScript inside it, designed mobile first.

  2. Copy the whole answer

Use the copy button on the code block, or copy the entire reply. Both work.

  3. Paste it into SiteUp

Open siteup.fyi, choose Paste code and paste. SiteUp pulls the HTML out of the answer and shows a live preview.

  4. Check the preview

Click around and scroll. If something is missing, ask the AI to fix it and paste the new version.

  5. Publish

Press Publish to get your link and QR code. Use Update files later to replace it with a better version on the same link.

Write a prompt that gives you one clean file

The single most useful sentence you can add to a prompt is: “Give me one complete, self-contained index.html file with all CSS and JavaScript inline.” It stops the AI from splitting the work into many files or using build tools you do not have.

A good prompt also says who the page is for, what it must contain and how it should feel. For example:

Create one self-contained index.html file with inline CSS and JavaScript for a birthday surprise page for my sister Ela, who turns 30 on 14 November. Mobile first, playful but elegant, a countdown, a short heartfelt message and a button that shows confetti. No external libraries. Reply with only the code.

In SiteUp, Make it with AI has ready prompts like this. Add your details, open the prompt in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, and paste the answer back.

If the AI gives you several files

Ask: “Combine everything into a single index.html file.” That is usually the fastest fix. If you prefer to keep separate files, save each one with the exact name the AI used, put them in one folder and drop the folder into SiteUp.

Fix the usual problems

  • The preview is blank or cut off. The answer was probably too long and stopped early. Ask the AI to “continue exactly where you stopped” and paste the full code again.
  • Buttons do nothing. There is a JavaScript error. Tell the AI what you clicked and what you expected, and ask for the corrected full file.
  • Images are missing. AI often invents image links that do not exist. Ask it to use emoji, CSS shapes or inline SVG instead, or upload your own images in a folder.
  • It looks great on a computer but not on a phone. Ask for a “mobile first layout that works from 320 pixels wide”.

What about React and other frameworks?

SiteUp hosts what browsers can open directly. If the AI writes React or Vue components, ask it to “rewrite this as plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript in one file”. If you built a project with a tool like Vite, run the build and upload the resulting dist folder.

Common questions

Do I need to remove the text around the code?

No. Paste the entire answer. SiteUp finds the HTML code block inside it.

Can I use a Claude artifact or a ChatGPT canvas?

Yes. Copy the code from it and paste it into SiteUp. The result is a normal link that anyone can open, without an AI account.

The AI made a login page. Why is it rejected?

SiteUp does not host pages with password or payment fields, because free hosting is often abused for phishing. Ask the AI to remove those fields.
